Welcome to the website of Bankstown City Radio Co-op Limited!

Bankstown City Radio is home to a wide variety of programmes, representing the communities of Bankstown and Auburn.

To this end, Bfm airs several community interest programmes, such as Gospel Joytime and Half Hour of God's Power for those stimulating divine times, Manilla Madness for all the joyful and romantic Pinay songs, Vietnamese Radio for news, music & events in Vietnamese, and many more!

Encouragement is placed on the local community to get involved through broadcasting. Do you live locally and have experience in broadcasting and wish to pursue these talents on community radio? Bfm is well placed to address these needs, especially with our modern and professional studios at our station at Cahors Rd in Padstow. Bfm's frequency, on 100.9MHz FM, can be heard clearly throughout the Bankstown and Auburn local government areas.

BFM is currently operating on a temporary community broadcasting licence which is active from October 2, 2009 to January 1, 2010 inclusive. In order to keep us on the air, we encourage everyone in the local community to get involved to keep us on the air. Bfm has modern facilities in its purpose built radio station at 102 Cahors Rd, PADSTOW, as well as a well placed FM transmitter enabling it to transmit clearly to Bankstown and Auburn local government areas. In the interests of the local community, we therefore encourage yourself to get involved in different ways to assist Bfm in securing a permanent licence to continue to support the community. Ways to get involved are through becomming a member of the cooperative and then applying for airtime to represent an interest in the community, writing to your local federal member or the minister for Communications, The Hon Stephen Conroy, and even writing to the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

Mailing addresses:

The Hon Stephen Conroy, Minister for Communications - PO BOX 1067, EPPING MDC, VIC 3076.

A.C.M.A - Australian Communications & Media Authority, PO BOX Q500, QUEEN VICTORIA BUILDING, NSW 1230.

The current Bfm programme guide can be viewed online by clicking "Programme Guide", and by clicking on "Forms & Downloads", one can download an application form to become a member. Airtime application forms are also here, however please note that prior to an airtime application form being accepted, the applicant must already be a financial member of the cooperative. Sending completed application forms to Bfm can be done by being them in to the office or if the glass door from Cahors Road frontage is locked, slipping it under the door, or by scanning it and emailing it to bfmsydney@yahoo.com.au or by sending it via (snail) mail to Bankstown City Radio Cooperative Limited, 102 Cahors Rd, PADSTOW NSW 2211.

Bfm warmly thanks the Community Broadcasting Foundation Ltd (CBF) for its continued financial support.

The Community Broadcasting Codes of Practice 2002 are available from the Australian Communication and Media Authority's website, at www.acma.gov.au

Currently, Bfm is operating on a temporary community broadcast licence that will expire on 1 January 2010.
